The International Furniture Design Competition Asahikawa (IFDA) is a prominent event promoting global exchange and innovation in furniture design. Established in 1990, IFDA has been held triennially, showcasing the creativity of designers from around the world. The 2021 competition, rescheduled from 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, received 588 entries from 37 countries. It highlights our city’s dedication to international collaboration and design excellence.
The “IFDA Design Competition 2021 Winning Entries” book features over 20 award-winning designs, including the prestigious Gold Leaf, Silver Leaf, and Bronze Leaf Awards. These works exemplify outstanding creativity and craftsmanship, making significant contributions to the global design community.

The competition is judged by an esteemed panel of international experts, each bringing unique perspectives and extensive experience in design. Their collective insights ensure that the competition maintains its high standards and continues to inspire innovation in the furniture design industry.
