Seoul Metropolitan Government Unveils New Brand Identity for “City of Design, Seoul”

Seoul Metropolitan Government recently unveiled its new brand identity representing “City of Design, Seoul”. This is topromote Design Seoul 2.0 and Seoul’s design industries.

The BI has also been developed in line with the new UNESCO’s Graphic Standards and Guidelines for the Use of Logo,revised in September 2023.

The new BI depicts the multi-layered city of Seoul as a melting pot of different designs and cultures. The layerssymbolize the city’s geography, and the idea is that Seoul’s design and culture extend throughout the city, creating avibrant and colorful city. The BI is composed of four-color layers: ‘Companionship’, ‘Health’, ‘Charm’, and ‘Change’.

“We expect the BI we developed to effectively communicate the identity of “City of Design, Seoul” and raise theinternational profile of Seoul’s design policy.” Said Inkyu Choi, the Director-General of Design Policy Bureau at SeoulMetropolitan Government.
