SUMMARY:Up Close. IS ARTI| Contemporary Music Festival
DESCRIPTION:The IŠ ARTI festival was born in 1997 out of the desire to promote the work of Kaunas-based composers and encourage relationships between Lithuanian musicians from different regions. Gradually\, the modest event grew into a solid annual showcase of modern music\, featuring more or less new symphonies\, dances\, psalms\, concertos\, rhapsodies\, suites\, conversations and lectureson history … \nAt present\, the idea of the IŠ ARTI festival is to get acquainted\, at close quarters\, with Lithuanian and foreign musical trends and processes\, which embrace local and foreign composers and performers of all generations. The initiators of Lithuanian premieres in the festival have been\, among others\, the violinist and conductor Vilhelmas Čepinskis\, the pianist Lina Krėpštaitė\, the Kaunas String Quartet\, the Kaunas City Symphony Orchestra\, and many performers from the capital city of Vilnius\, including solo performers\, chamber ensembles\, and the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra. Thanks to several years of collaboration with the Lithuanian Section of the International Society for Contemporary Music\, the IŠ ARTI festival has hosted such performers as the Tallinn String Quartet (Estonia)\, Antyphodes (Switzerland)\, the Stockholm Saxophone Quartet (Sweden)\, the Penderecki String Quartet and the Ergo Ensemble (Canada)\, Harmonies of the World (Ukraine)\, the Ebony Quartet (Belgium)\, the Amstel Quartet (Holland)\, and the Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble (Russia). The festival has featured many foreign composers\, including Peter Vasks (Latvia)\, the multi-instrumentalist Klaus Burger (Germany)\, the composer of electronic music Alvi Curran (USA)\, Bernd Franke (Germany)\, Oleg Paiberdin (Russia)\, Paul Dirmeikis (France)\, the creator of sound sculptures Hans van Koolwijk (Holland)\, the Slovenski tolkani project (Slovenia)\, and the KamerYouth Choir (Latvia). \nThe IŠ ARTI festival does not confine itself to elite music intended for a small circle of experts. On the contrary\, it strives to get closer to the listener\, composer and performer\, to attract audiences of various age groups and with different backgrounds\, and to help contemporary music listeners develop their musical tastes. Since the inception of the festival\, the organisers (the Kaunas Branch of the Lithuanian Composers Union and\, lately\, the IŠ ARTI Public Institution) havecarried out this mission with the help from the Kaunas State Philharmonic Society. \nFor more information click here.

SUMMARY:Torino Design of the City 2017
DESCRIPTION:Almost ten years have passed since Torino was nominated World Design Capital\, a recognition that is awarded every two years by the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (ICSID) and which has turned the spotlight on the city’s ability to recognize design as a factor of economic\, social and cultural growth. A virtuous path that started in 2008 and was consolidated in 2014 when Torino was\, uniquely in Italy\, awarded the title of UNESCO Creative City of Design. This has found confirmation this year with the choice of Torino as the venue for the World Design Organization’s (WDO)TM biennial convention. \nFollowing Seoul\, Helsinki\, Cape Town and Taipei\, the WDOTM (formerly the ICSID) – the international organization that promotes design – is choosing an Italian city to host the Thirtieth General Assembly on the 14 and 15 October involving its representatives from all over the world. Currently led by the Professor and Industrial Designer Mugendi M’Rithaa who\, in these days will pass on the presidency to the Piedmont Architect and Designer Luisa Bocchietto\, the World Design Organization (WDO)TM incorporates 140 organizations and is active in 60 countries and 6 continents worldwide. \nOn the occasion of Torino Design of the City from 10 to 16 October\, the City is promoting a week of events\, meetings\, workshops\, exhibitions and guided tours in the strategic places of the city that have experienced and are experiencing the phenomenon of urban regeneration\, such as Via Sacchi\, Cavallerizza\, Torino Incontra\, Lingotto Fiere\, BasicVillage\, Toolbox\, Hangar25\, Circolo del Design and Mastio della Cittadella. The focus of the event will then be the WDOTM General Assembly\, involving design professionals and peers from all over the world and which will take place at the ILO\, International Training Centre of Torino. \nThe Turin event was conceived with the aim of drawing the attention of citizens and national and international industry experts to contemporary design’s state-of-the-art and new trends and to recount how this discipline makes it is possible to intervene on a complex organism such as the city. Torino Design of the City is thus a stage to discuss the possibilities of innovation through design thinking applied to public policy with solutions of sustainable mobility and urban regeneration\, and by creating heterogeneous networks between people of a different vocation and nature. The extensive programme of events also intends to revitalise the Piedmont territory’s design\, creativity and production chain through the enhancement of existing heritage. \n\n\n\nTorino Design of the City is being organised through the joint effort of the Advisory Round Table of Design\, involving more than 30 public and private entities – including traders’ associations\, training institutes\, archives and museums – and a Steering Committee composed of the Deputy Mayor Guido Montanari and the Assessor for Culture Francesca Leon\, Assessor for Traffic Maria Lapietra\, Assessor for Education Federica Patti\, Assessor for Innovation Paola Pisano and Assessor for Trade Alberto Sacco. \nThe week of events is organised by Città di Torino with Fondazione per la Cultura Torino and Turismo Torino e Provincia\, with the support of the Compagnia di San Paolo\, the Fondazione Sviluppo e Crescita CRT\, the Chamber of Commerce of Turin\, the University of Turin\, the Politecnico di Torino\, and the ILO – International Labour Organization\, with the patronage of the Ministry of Heritage and Cultural Activities and the collaboration of World Design Organization (WDO). \nFor further information visit the website and download the programme.

SUMMARY:Seoul Design Week 2017
DESCRIPTION:The Seoul Design Foundation has been preparing many big events for this September and Seoul Design Week is one of them. DDP and some design related districts in the city center of Seoul are the main venues of SDW2017. \nThe main theme of Seoul Design Week 2017 is Design for Better Relationships. \nOpening\nAt the opening conference\, Japan’s Yamazaki Ryo\, a community designer as well as an architect\, delivered the keynote address introducing a design that develops the relationship between the residents and the village. He invigorated some backward areas by adopting “community design.” Pierre Fortin\, an urban designer\, introduced his story about transforming Montreal’s nightlife district into a public square\, while Simone Carena\, professor of IDAS\, introduced some examples of design enhancing the value of public spaces. \nThe guest speakers at the conference introduced cases of relational design and communicated with citizens\, giving their appraisals of Seoul and its design. \n“EP. age” was one of the programs prepared to support the design of young designers through audition. Seven teams of university students and start-up designers were mentored by senior designers for seven weeks\, after which they presented their ideas. Three presenters were awarded the mayor’s award\, SDF award and SDW award. \nThe second Seoul Smart Mobility International Conference was held at DDP Art Hall on September 26\, following up on last year’s successful exhibition and conference on smart mobility. The theme of this year’s conference was “Smart Mobilities gather in an eco-friendly sharing city\, Seoul.” \nJohn Thackara\, a senior research fellow of Great Britain’s Royal College of Art and the so-called “futurologist of the design world\,” attended the conference as a guest speaker\, giving keynote speech about mobility design in civil ecology. He also delivered a lecture about the economy of the future on September 27. \nDuring the Design Week period\, there were various educational programs for youths and students of design. The DDP hosted a presentation\, “Asian Colour Trend”\, suggested by Japanese design firm DIC; an international seminar on “Universal Design\,” a design that can be used easily and safely by all regardless of age or ability; and the Condé Nast X DDP workshop about branding\, event management and fashion media art direction. \n  \nCrafts Fair \nOther events and exhibits took place in DDP. The Seoul Crafts Fair\, held annually since 2015 to vitalizing the craft industry\, returned with a more private theme. To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the display of Marcel Duchamp’s “Fountain\,” that the genius of which changed our perspective toward the toilet bowl\, SDF has organized this year’s fair on the theme of the toilet and bathroom. The fair showed us how elements that we use everyday in our bathroom can become beautiful works of art. Paying homage to Duchamp and of his modern art\, various artists and designers conceptually re-conceived the toilet and the bathroom in the modern sense\, too. \nThe most important message to the visitors of 2017 Seoul Design Week was that design is no longer something to just look at\, but something that is already with us in our daily lives. \n

SUMMARY:Kaunas Biennial
DESCRIPTION:The 11th Kaunas Biennial seeks to oppose monopolistically populist practice of removing-erecting and conservative traditionalism\, prevalent in the memory discourse of public art in Lithuania\, and to stimulate and legitimise radically new\, contemporary\, conceptual\, relevant ideas and strategies for monument-making\, inviting international and local artists to \n\n– look back at the removed\n– rethink the existing\n– imagine the future\n_                        MONUMENTS. \nWhen Lithuania broke free from the rule of the Soviet Union a quarter of the century ago\, it quickly got rid of all the monuments and sculptures that had anything to do with the communist ideology or Soviet occupation. Then\, with the same hastiness\, we rebuilt most of the national monuments that the Soviets had destroyed\, and erected some new ones\, yet of the same pre-WWII style and content. After paying that debt to the past we could hope for new public art to become more contemporary\, new monuments to be more suggestive\, and the remaining ideologically controversial or dated ones to be re-contextualised and acquire new meanings. However\, apart from the several successful but temporary public art projects\, a few abstract sculptures and a couple of less traditional monuments\, this didn’t catch on. In fact\, we are experiencing regression – in recent years the few remaining specimens of Soviet sculptural heritage were removed\, and there is also a rising urge to erect more bronze heroes that the new generation can hardly relate to. Even abstraction in monument projects is often regarded as insulting\, and there are demands to memorialise freedom by directly repeating not only romantic\, but also totalitarian tradition. And here\, in Kaunas\, in the totalitarian meat-grinder of the middle of the 20th century\, my grandfather as a young man\, together with 34\,000 other Jews\, vanished without a trace. I found his telephone number in an old directory. 25367. From this moment it is the Zahir. But what about the others? When you walk around Kaunas\, nothing reminds you that they all lived here\, that they were all murdered\, and why. But how to remember what is NOT THERE? How not to forget what is THERE? How to memorialise something you wish not to have been? And\, in the face of over-saturation\, what monuments do we really need?\n– Paulina Pukyte\, curator of the 11th Kaunas Biennial \nThe opening programme will include a two-day conference on 16-17th\, Sept.\, 2017 with invited speakers such as prof. Aleida Assmann\, prof. James E. Young\, Jochen Gerz\, Skaidra Trilupaityte\, Laima Kreivyte\, Rasa Antanaviciute and others.

SUMMARY:Helsinki Design Week 2017
DESCRIPTION:Q&A – Questions & Answers \nLooking for questions and answers highlights the fact that good design always entails good thinking. Since quite a while\, the value of design has surpassed making mere objects and included insight and questioning the obvious.\nThe theme encourages us towards open-mindedness\, vision\, exploration and discovery. Criticality is important\, and so is openness before options. The theme tackles social questions that impact the future.\nHow can we use design to build better cities and a better society? How could design-thinking benefit new areas? We must ask the right questions and come up with answers that remain relevant in the future. The theme includes topics like urban development\, education and learning\, sustainable development\, spaces and houses\, as well as entrepreneurship and collaboration in the creative fields. \nAnother important dimension is internationality. Helsinki Design Week has kicked off and chairs a new World Design Weeks networks in a time when international interactivity faces new challenges and questions. Populism\, nationalism and protectionism emerge in many countries\, but new ideas and innovations require openness\, engagement and tolerance to develop.\nDuring the years to come\, we need to convince national organizations that international networking and dialogue produce more common good than short-sighted pursuit of national interest. How do we do this? \nIn September\, we’ll be looking for answers in hundreds of Helsinki Design Week events! \nThe programme\nHelsinki Design Week has published its main events for 2017\, including new tram discussions\, city installations and hard questions. This year’s novelties include after-work design discussions on trams\, Data-Driven Design Day that encourages us to utilize data\, and World Design Weeks Summit that is to unite international design influencers and Finnish operators. \nSee the programme here.\nFor further information visit: helsinkidesignweek.com \n

SUMMARY:1st Seoul Biennale of Architecture
DESCRIPTION:The cities of the world gather in Seoul to explore the present and future of urban civilization. How are we going to share breathable air\, drinking water land and energy for living and manufacturing? \nUnder environmental crisis and social injustice\, we propose the urban vision of sharing and manufacturing over possession and consumption. \nThe Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism 2017 is an experimental platform for an imminent urbanism that goes beyond human-centered functions\, ownership\, and consumption to a commons of\, technologies\, resources and production. They propose nine essential commons as a feasible path towards a sustainable and just urbanism. From both ecological and technological problems\, this frame foregrounds a study not of a distant utopia but of the near future. \nThe four ecology commons are air\, water\, fire and earth. The five technology commons are making\, moving\, communicating\, sensing and recycling. \nBased on the theme of “Imminent Commons\,” the Seoul Biennale will be held from September 2 to November 5. The exhibition will be organized into two major sections\, “Thematic Exhibition” and “Cities Exhibition ”  and other various programs such as international studio\, educational programs\, forums\, tour programs and common library will also be prepared. \nFor further information click here.

The festival is organized every year in Kaunas\, the second largest city of Lithuania. Being the longest- running photographic festival in the Baltic States\, KAUNAS PHOTO is a platform for dialogue around contemporary photographic creation between North and South\, East and West. SUMMARY:11th Annual Meeting of the UNESCO Creative Cities Network
DESCRIPTION:  \nTaking place in the City of Media Arts Enghien-les-Bains\, the 11th Creative Cities Annual Meeting will be open to the general public with an artistic programme for the first time in the history of UNESCO Creative Cities Network. Around the theme of DATA CITIES and data collection\, the creative DNA of the cities will be exhibited through cultural events during the international event. \nSince its creation in 2004\, the Creative Cities Network has been a flagship programme of UNESCO\, highlighting and promoting the role of culture and creativity in building more inclusive and sustainable cities. This rapidly-growing Network currently unites 116 cities from 54 countries around a common objective: promoting creativity as a motor for development. \nCreative Cities place culture and the creative industries at the heart of their local development strategies and policies\, and collaborate actively at the international level through intercity projects. The Network maintains that cities – in spite of their cultural\, geographic\, demographic or economic differences – can support\, inspire and enrich one another\, and work together\, for the sustainable development of all.\nIn the face of a rapid urbanization\, culture is more important than ever as a strategic enabler of renewal for cities and a catalyst for innovation\, intercultural dialogue and social cohesion. Following the adoption of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in September 2015\, as well as the New Urban Agenda in Quito\, Ecuador\, in October 2016\, the Creative Cities were called upon to implement these development agendas at the city level.\nTogether at Enghien-les-Bains\, on the occasion of the 11th Annual Meeting of the Network\, the Creative Cities will reaffirm their commitment and present concrete actions they have taken towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. UNESCO relies increasingly on the Creative Cities to maximise the power of culture and to imagine the sustainable cities of the future. \n—FRANCESCO BANDARIN\, UNESCO ASSISTANT DIRECTOR-GENERAL FOR CULTURE \nFor further information click here. \n

SUMMARY:Share Festival | Sincerity
DESCRIPTION:OPENING SHARE FESTIVAL XII EDITION: SINCERITY \nFor our XII edition of Share Festival\, the Italian art fair of electronics\, digital art and new media\, we chose the theme of “Sincerity.” \n“Sincerity” is the antidote to an era of fake news\, deception\, phony hype\, double-dealing and espionage.  It’s refreshing to be open\, transparent\, and emotionally generous. \nElectronic art often relies on technology to produce stage-magic special effects.  However\, high-tech art doesn’t have to mystify in order to move the audience and make an artistic point.  Sometimes it’s far better to open the stuffy black-boxes and reveal the means of production; to be inclusive and expose all the tools to fresh air. \nThe Share Festival international jury for 2017 – Massimo Banzi\, Sheldon Brown\, Angelo ‘Motor’ Comino\, Jasmina Tesanovic and Bruce Sterling – chose six works that\, although they are technically complex\, are lucid and emotionally clear.  We have  artworks from around the world that include a jar that expresses shyness\, a love that struggles with static and digital decay\, knives that stay alive\, interactive rooms with breathing room\, and multimedia that sleeps on the beach at sunrise. \nWe also have a social show of experimental works by favorite Share artists who have bravely volunteered to create works with the new Share Festival “Artmaker” Tool Bag\, a portable collection of instruments specifically designed and assembled by Share to support creative  technology and device art. \nWelcome to lucidity\, justice\, fairness\, and respect for civilized intelligence.\nWelcome to Sincerity! \n  \nSHARE FESTIVAL XII EDITION\nTOOLBOX TORINO – Via Agostino da Montefeltro\, 2\nOPENING  26th May\, Tuesday – 6:00 PM\nElektro Dj set by Giorgio Pulini \nwww.toshareproject.it

SUMMARY:Designmonat Graz 2017
DESCRIPTION:The month of May focused on Designmonat Graz (Month of Design). An extensive programme provided an insight into different creative disciplines and links with various designers. Events such as exhibitions\, workshops or lectures invite you to networking in the UNESCO City of Design Graz. \nFrom 29th April to 28th May\, Designmonat Graz 2017 is coordinated and organised by Creative In-dustries Styria (CIS) – already for the ninth time. There is a persistent strong interest in the event. \nA successful Designmonat Graz 2017 turned Graz into an internationally renowned hotspot of design. In May 91\,100 people visited 126 single events\, that were staged with 101 programme partners and 431 designers or labels. About 200 reports of Designmonat Graz in print\, TV and radio media\, as well as numerous national and international postings\, articles and blog posts on online portals and social media channels are a proof of the powerful international radiance of the festival. \nIn the course of Designmonat Graz 2017 the programme focuses on ‘Smart Design – Smart Production’ and deals with the age of digital networking and the multifarious tools of the Digital Revolution. Last but not least\, the protagonists of the creative industries – developers\, researchers\, programmers and designers – are the ones who created and enabled the new technological age. There are also plans for a ‘Smartness Conference’ on this subject. \nMajor events\nThe exhibition ‘SELECTED’ has a long tradition in terms of current interior design trends of different brands from diverse countries. What is new\, is not only the presented trends but also the location because this year the exhibition is staged in the Museum of Natural History at Joanneumsviertel.\nThe successful format ‘Design in the City’ continues to actively involve commercial companies of Graz in the programme of Designmonat. By doing so\, the participating companies launch design activities in addition to their everyday business. Further\, the fashion and design festival ‘assembly’ will once more be a part of Designmonat Graz. \nEstablished partners\nDesignmonat Graz will again include the production ‘Klanglicht’ of Bühnen Graz – this year it will take place on two days at selected locations. Schloss Hollenegg for Design invites to the exhibition MORPHOSIS around the topic ‘change\, evolution and transformation/metamorphosis’. The fans of Fesch’Markt may also look forward to the month of May. In cooperation with FH Joanneum\, the Department of Media & Design wants to familiarise us with the media design of the 1970s. The exhibition called ‘The Orange Age’ presents audio and TV devices as well as communication and office appliances\, provided by Heinz Fischer. In addition\, we plan lectures on the issue of smart communication in the future. \nNew accents\n‘Smart Urban Privacy’ is the name of a cooperation with Holzcluster Styria\, in the course of which we present objects\, that enable a temporary retreat at lively\, public locations. The smart city furniture for ‘digital natives’ or ‘digital immigrants’ rely of course on the smart material wood. Speaking of wood: within the regional focus on Raabtal\, we will stage the second design battle in May\, where teams of designers and specialists will cope with a task based on the topic ‘wood’. \n  \n\n\nYou are currently viewing a placeholder content from Default. SUMMARY:Singapore Design Week - SDW 2017
DESCRIPTION:Singapore Design Week (SDW) is marching forward and advancing ahead to the positive changes design can bring to our lives. In a drive towards deeper engagement with participants\, the fourth edition of SDW will celebrate all things design through more than 100 local and international events and programmes. SDW is organised by the DesignSingapore Council (Dsg) and supported by key and fringe partners. It is from 3 to 12 March 2017 and is held at the National Design Centre and various locations across Singapore. Dsg will also collaborate with Time Inc. for the Innovation by Design Conference on 7 to 8 March 2017. \n“SDW is very different from the other design festivals\, in that our narrative of design has broadened over the years\, and this has been demonstrated through our programming. Singapore Design Week engages businesses and C-suite to help them understand how design can be used in business strategy. It showcases the importance of design in social innovation and national identity. At the same time\, we are excited to see the creative and craftsmanship of local designers grow from strength to strength every year\, and grateful that they see SDW as a key platform to showcase their work. We are especially thrilled to announce our new collaboration with global media company Time Inc. for the Innovation by Design Conference. The collaboration enhances Singapore as a global city for design\,” said Ms Agnes Kwek\, Executive Director\, DesignSingapore Council. \nInnovation by Design Conference is the feature conference of SDW. Through the collaboration with Time Inc and the company’s Fortune\, TIME and Wallpaper* brands\, the conference will feature the theme Design. Innovate. Transform. Discussion topics will include design and technology\, and how design can transform businesses and organisations\, and more. Attendees will include designers\, businesses\, C-suite executives and leaders from the public and private sectors\n“Time Inc. recognises Singapore’s position as a global design and business hub. The city has driven the strategic adoption of design among businesses and public agencies\,” said Norman Pearlstine\, Vice Chairman of Time Inc. “We are pleased to collaborate with the DesignSingapore Council on the Innovation by Design Conference. Participants can expect to hear unique insights from some of the world’s foremost business and design leaders that our global brands have convened.” \nKey Event Highlights \nSingaPlural\, the anchor event of SDW\, is from 7 to 12 March at the F1 Pit Building. Curated by award-winning design firm\, BLACK\, SingaPlural 2017 will present new perspectives with a refreshing take on design and how its influences our daily lives. The theme Stories – A New Perspective will feature installations\, including a display by international clothing brand\, UNIQLO. \nInternational Furniture Fair Singapore 2017 (IFFS)\, another key partner event of SDW\, is Asia’s premier sourcing and design-led furniture trade show presenting the latest design concepts and furniture range for the home\, as well as a virtual reality showcase. IFFS is co-located with the newly rebranded Nook Asia and held in conjunction with the 34th ASEAN Furniture Show. IFFS is from 9 to 12 March at the Singapore EXPO. \nSingapore + Wallpaper* Handmade Classics will mount a debut exhibition in Singapore. It is a specially curated showcase of original\, one-off pieces and unique design collaborations commissioned by Wallpaper* magazine and created by internationally renowned talents from past Handmade editions. The theme of the exhibition – MultipliCITY – acknowledges Singapore’s heritage of adaptability\, versatility\, diversity and invention. The exhibition is from 9 March to 11 June at Gillman Barracks. \nFrontliners in Action: architects and the people create a better living environment is a collective exhibition comprising Space to Imagine\, Room for Everyone commissioned by Dsg and curated by NUS; Limit/Limitless by MKPL; and Living Shelter by WY-TO and Pod Structures. The exhibitions were first mounted at the15th International Architecture Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia (also known as the Venice Architecture Biennale) in 2016. Frontliners in Action demonstrates how architects must constantly be resourceful in surmounting space and resource constraints\, to find solutions that address “frontline” challenges. These challenges may be social\, environmental\, natural or even man-made. Increasingly\, citizens are also exerting their influence in enhancing the environment\, through active support and participation in ground-up initiatives. Architects and the people\, therefore\, are our extraordinary “frontliners”. This feature exhibition of SDW runs from 3 March to 8 April at the National Design Centre Atrium. \nDesign\, Make & Craft Fair will give everyone the opportunity to understand the creative process of making and to appreciate design in everyday life. The Fair is curated by Supermama and In the Wild’s Clara Yee\, with the theme Creating a Better World by Design. Visitors can attend hands-on workshops to design\, make and craft objects\, guided by designers\, makers and craftsmen from Singapore and the Asia-Pacific region. The Fair is from 4 to 5 March at The Plaza on Level 1 of the National Library Building. \nDesign Trails\, a perennial crowd-puller\, will return for the fourth time to take visitors on a Design Day Out in the City\, to inspired design spots in and around the city. Participants can get an insider’s peek into spaces and studios of the creative community. They can also learn to appreciate design through talks and demonstrations. The Trails are from 11 to 12 March. \nFor details of SDW events and programmes\, please refer to www.designsingapore.org/SDW

SUMMARY:Operæ - Independent Design Festival
DESCRIPTION:The seventh edition of Operæ gathers public and experts around projects linked by a focus on materials as well as on processes and craft technique. The event suggests a landscape inhabited by objects carriers of new values – whether economic\, social\, productive or relational – that arise from the intersection between craft skills and digital knowledge\, local practices and global needs\, specialized competences and collective narratives. \nThe event offers the opportunity to discover new products\, take note of the emerging phenomena\, get in touch with the actors of the design process as well as to stop and think about those aspects that design industry touches. Thanks to a program of meetings with personalities from the world of design\, economy and culture and a full calendar of workshops\, Operæ involves professionals as well as fans and curious. \nOver time Operæ has become an incubator of stories: it brings to the fore experimental\, innovative and multidisciplinary approaches and allows designers to sell their products and visitors to buy objects that are unique or produced in limited series. \nFor the 2016 edition Operæ is enriched by the presence of Annalisa Rosso\, independent design and architecture journalist\, in the role of curator. She identified the theme “Designing the future” as the framework through which to read the present time and the key which to look at the exhibition. \nThis year Operæ takes place in the first week of November\, from the 3rd to the 6th\, to coincide with Artissima Art Fair in the frame of the most important Italian event dedicated to contemporary arts “Contemporary Art Torino”. \nFor further information click here. \n  \n
